Shhh! I Am Watching a Movie

MovieJawn Movie Mail: the ticket to your next favorite watch

Greetings Old Sport!

So you like watching movies, love gabbing about the latest flick in cinemas but do you fancy writing about movies? MovieJawn is seeking interested film writers to join our staff. No matter your level of writing experience, ALL ARE WELCOME TO APPLY. However, special considerations will be made for historically marginalized writers.

Presently, MovieJawn staff is unpaid. At this time payment that is offered to our writers is collected through direct reader support and donation. Writers that contribute to our quarterly print publication receive a contributor's copy. We continue to work on ways to offer compensation and are hopeful to offer more opportunities for payment in the future. Learn more, including how to apply here.

And oh yea… if you’re watching the Oscars this weekend leave a comment with how you plan to celebrate old sport! We would love to know who you are rooting for.

MovieJawn Staff Writer, Liz Locke of CinemaSips.com was recently a guest on Karie Bible’s web-show Hollywood Kitchen in celebration of Ida Lupino. The two cinephiles chatted about the new Lupino biography, Forgotten Auteur by author Alexandra Seros, as well as the new Classic Hollywood romance, His Girl Hollywood by Maureen Lee Lenker. They also cook up one of Ida’s famed delicacies: cocktail meatballs.

Of course the show would not be complete without a cocktail. Liz features a “Peach in Champagne” tipple as seen in Fritz Lang’s While The City Sleeps, starring Ida Lupino and George Sanders.
