Make It a Movie Weekend!
MovieJawn Movie Mail: the ticket to your next favorite watch

Greetings Old Sport!
The weather in Philadelphia has been very much like a yo-yo (typical Spring stuff) as of late, but here at MovieJawn we don’t mind because no matter what the temperature we would rather be indoors! And where might you wonder? At our favorite movie palace… of course!

There are so many grand film events happening in the local Philadelphia area and beyond! Kicking off April 17 until April 24 is Philadelphia Film Society’s Spring Fest. Two of our staff writers will be on location and sharing their dispatches here. Not sure what to watch? Check out Tessa Swehla’s picks of the fest here and Andrea Schmidt’s most anticipated films here.
Recently, Rosalie Kicks chatted with fellow staffer and host of Talking Hitchcock podcast, Rebecca McCallum. They chatted about her show, her favorite Hitchcock characters and the upcoming quartet of Hitch motion pictures playing at Mahoning Drive-in April 18 and 19, tickets here. You can read the full chat here.

For those that live in the Philly suburbs, plan to stop by Ambler Theatre for their 35mm Film Festival kicking off April 25 until April 27, tickets available here. They have a grand line-up in store. Learn more about the event in our PEEK BETWEEN THE PAGES OF OUR SPRING 2025 ZINE! Rosalie Kicks chats with Nitrate Film Vault Leader, George Willeman about preservation and restoration of motion pictures… including the 1924 silent film, Captain Blood here. Captain Blood will screen at the 35mm film festival with live accompaniment from Brett Miller, tickets here.
Don’t live in the Philadelphia area? Enter to win tickets to Ryan Coogler’s new film, SINNERS.

To Enter The Contest:1. Follow us on Instagram here 2. Comment and Tag a movie pal you want to see the movie with in our SINNERS contest post on Instagram
We will select (5) winners to each win two tickets each that can be redeemed on Fandango to any theater in the United States. Contest ends Sunday, Winners contacted Monday via Instagram.
