We have partnered with our friends from The Hiway Theater and Girls Like Horror to present the horror classic, Pet Semetary on 35mm. Tickets available here. 

Before the flick! join us next door to the theater at Human Robot at 8PM to mix and mingle. From 8-9:30pm meet new horror loving fans, shop sick horror reads from Capricorn Bookshop, enter our raffle of amazing prizes, & participate in fun activities and crafts, and a Stephen King matching game! The mixer is free and open to all!

At 9:30PM we head over to The Hiway theater for a pitch-perfect and truly unsettling adaptation of the Stephen King novel, PET SEMATARY! After a tragedy strikes, a grieving father discovers a burial site in his backyard that can bring the dead back to life. The only caveat is that whoever goes into the ground doesn’t come back the same.

Director Mary Lambert, known for her groundbreaking music video work with Madonna and Janet Jackson, brings a stylish and slightly campy take to King’s horrific meditation on grief. Rated R. SHOW UP EARLY! The first 50 people to attend this special presentation of Horror at the Hiway on Friday, August 29th will receive a free mini poster by Monster Comics! Secure your tickets here

Say hello to staff writer, Shah

Shah recently made a twelve minute short film entitled, Are You Open? about a bookshop owner with a massive love for cinema & literature. The flick premiered in June at an indie film theater in Malaysia called Wayang Budiman.

Shah is currently submitting the film to festivals and it was recently selected to play at Lift-Off First Time Filmmakers fest by Pinewood Studios, located in England. Make sure to add the film to your Letterboxd watchlist here, to be notified when it is available to watch.
